A small intervention in that typically underused space which is the residual side-space left over by traditional returns to the rear of houses. The challenge is always the same – how to encompass this space in a kitchen or garden room, without cutting off the light to the original rear reception room. In this case we made a roof structure entirely from glass, with the daylight further amplified by cladding the beams with mirror.
