A mews house behind Mountpleasant Square takes up a long infill site, resulting in a building with just two elevations, lane and garden. Within the volume, two double-height light-wells, one internal and one external, illuminate the long, narrow plan. As the house is an infill type, spatially it is defined by the two voids.
To the garden side on the south, the façade is mostly glass, while the north side to the lane the house presents a closed face appropriate to the privacy of the lane. Both façades use brick cladding, applied in a clearly compositional way, with the thickness always made explicit.
